Ever felt this way about your scale? Yeah, me too. As many of you know, I’ve struggled with my weight for years now, but in the last year or so I’ve had a lot of success with keeping it in check thanks to taking up running as a “hobby.” But (in case you didn’t know) exercise alone won’t help you lose weight. (shocking, I know)
In fact, if you can’t get your eating under control… you’re still going to have problems. Which leads me to today’s post because guess what… Kristy gots problems.
Truth be told, I’m a food-a-holic (love the stuff!) and when I’m stressed, depressed, angry, happy, sad… (read: feeling any emotion at all) I tend to eat. Nope, it’s not a good coping mechanism. And with everything that’s happened in the last several months, I’ve struggled with keeping my eating in check.
So, enter blog idea #478… “Move it and Lose it” (a.k.a. A very public display of my successes and failures in weight loss and fitness – to serve as a motivational tool)
Actually, I can’t take full credit for the idea (or any at all really) because it was the hubby’s idea. (he’s a genius) The idea is to share with you all where I’m at on the journey (of weight loss and fitness) and therefore (hopefully) keep myself accountable. (and motivated)

Joining me this go-round is my ever faithful (and amazing) running partner (and partner in crime) – my sister-in-law, Amber. (she says ‘hi’)
Today, we’ll be weighing in (together – ugh!) and then working out. We’re going to be keeping each other accountable with our calorie intake, our workouts, and motivating each other in any way possible (read: pedicures, shopping, and other non-food related rewards)
We’re calling it the “Healthy Heilman Fitness Plan” (catchy, right?!), but for the blog you’ll find it under the “Move it and Lose it” category – which will include other fitness/food related posts in the future, as well.
Since we’ll be weighing in on Mondays, I’ll likely be posting on Tuesdays about my current weight, etc. Then at the end of the week, I’ll share about how I’ve done with eating and exercise. (whether it’s good or bad!)
Also, my hubby suggested trying out a link-up, so that is something I’m considering, as well. Would any of you be interested in linking up with your progress in weight loss and/or fitness? Whether it’s a goal weight, training to run a certain distance (or bike, swim, whatever), working out a certain number of hours a week, or something else weight or fitness related – maybe we could all encourage each other along the way.
So, who’s in to Move it and Lose it?
